Cooking in the Nude Changes Lives: Find Out How

Alright. So when you first glance at the title, this seems like a stretch, right?

WRONG!

My friends and I used to always joke that we were going to eat our dinners in our bikinis to stay fit, but now that I’m doing my research, I’m starting to see just how true that joke actually is. 

Cooking in the nude does change lives and it’s not for the worse.

Before we get down to “brass tacks” I would just like to point out how easy it is to 

  1. take off your clothes 
  2. carve out 15-30 mins once a week to make a positive impact 

Out of all the things you can do to change your life for the better, THIS has to be one of the hands-down, absolute easiest. Yet according to ABC, “A recent survey found that 15 percent of adults – or 36 million people – in the U.S. have cooked in the nude.” So while this is a convenient way to improve, it is not at all popular. How It All Works 

To understand where these positive effects come into play and how exactly they are connected to being nude, look over the breakdown below. 

  • People who cook in the nude feel more creative IN and OUT of the kitchen.
    • Taking clothes off allows nudists to feel uninhibited yet also in control. And that’s not a Taoist allusion! By taking off their clothes, their focus goes into their flow and is not distracted by petty worldly trappings like clothing and appearance.

    • No longer are they eating out of inertia. The whole cognition around sustenance is changed as they shed their clothes – which can act as a reminder of consumerism. Instead, after they are unclothed, people eat what they need and that’s it. There is no excess. They simply eat to satisfy hunger and community fellowship. 
  • This positive relationship doesn’t stop with food. People who cook in the nude report feeling more secure in their bodies as well.

    • Due to a lowered body temperature, your body is forced to build more brown adipose tissue as opposed to white adipose tissue. (Psst, brown adipose tissue is what’s known as the “good” kind of fat and white adipose tissue is what’s known as the “bad” kind of fat.)
